THE REAL PROPERTY EXPERTS (RPE) website provides world-class information for Real Estate Investors.  The following online links will lead you to the sources you need to help you run your business.  Be sure to comply with all governing bodies.

AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
The Americans With Disabilities Act provides civil rights protection to individuals with disabilities and guarantees them equal opportunity in public accommodations, employment, transportation, state and local government services, and telecommunications.  The law applies to all companies, so business owners must know its provisions and how they affect their companies' employment practices, facilities, and products.  The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is the federal agency charged with enforcing the various aspects of the ADA.
The ADA was signed into law on July 26, 1990, by President George H. Bush and has been revised several times.

FAIR HOUSING and EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
The Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity was created by the Fair Housing Act of 1968, which sought to end discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, color, religion, and national origin.  To view the latest amendments to the act, click here.

FAIR HOUSING ACCESSIBILITY FIRST
It is an initiative designed to promote compliance with the Fair Housing Act.  The program offers comprehensive and detailed instruction programs, helpful online web resources, and a toll-free information line for technical guidance and support.  For more information, click here.  Do not forget to review their FAQ page!

The Fair Housing Act and Assistance Animals
This federal law states that anyone with a mental or physical disability cannot be turned away from housing with their certified service animal or emotional support animal.  It includes buildings and apartments that have a NO PETS POLICY in place.  Click here for more information.

SECURITY DEPOSITS BY STATE
The amount of security that can be collected for a tenant is limited by state law.  For more information on what your state requirements are, click here.

STATE STATUTES
